1:11

11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.  KJV

11 They asked, “Why are you men from Galilee standing here looking at the sky? Jesus, who was taken from you to heaven, will come back in the same way that you saw him go to heaven.”  GW

11 They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here ·looking into [staring at] ·the sky [heaven]? Jesus, whom you saw taken up from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you saw him go [C on a cloud; Luke 21:27].”  EXB

11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring at the sky? Jesus has gone away to heaven, and some day, just as he went, he will return!”  TLB

9-11 These were his last words. As they watched, he was taken up and disappeared in a cloud. They stood there, staring into the empty sky. Suddenly two men appeared—in white robes! They said, “You Galileans!—why do you just stand here looking up at an empty sky? This very Jesus who was taken up from among you to heaven will come as certainly—and mysteriously—as he left.”   MSG

4:12

12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  KJV

12 And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.  AMP

12 No one else can save us. Indeed, we can be saved only by the power of the one named Jesus and not by any other person.”  GW

12 Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.  CEV

12 There is no one else who can rescue us, and there is no other name under heaven given to any human by whom we may be rescued.  VOICE

7:33

33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.  KJV

33 Then the Lord said to him, Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground and worthy of veneration.  AMP

33 The voice continued: “Take off your sandals and stand barefoot on the ground in My presence, for this ground is holy ground.  VOICE

33 “God said, ‘Kneel and pray. You are in a holy place, on holy ground. MSG

10:34

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:  KJV

34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons,  AMP

34-35 Then Peter began to speak, “In solemn truth I can see now that God is no respecter of persons, but that in every nation the man who reverences him and does what is right is acceptable to him!  PHILLIPS

34 Peter ·began to speak [L opened his mouth]: “I ·really [truly] understand now that ·to God every person is the same [God does not show favoritism/partiality].  EXB

34 Peter began to speak: “I really understand now that to God every person is the same. NCV

34 Then Peter began to speak, `I really understand now. God does not love some people more than others.  WE

34 Then Peter said, “Now I understand that God doesn’t play favorites.  GW

10:38

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.  KJV

38 You know God identified Jesus as the uniquely chosen One by pouring out the Holy Spirit on Him, by empowering Him. You know Jesus went through the land doing good for all and healing all who were suffering under the oppression of the evil one, for God was with Him.  VOICE

38 How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him.  AMP

38You must know the story of Jesus of Nazareth—why, it has spread through the whole of Judea, beginning with Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed. You must have heard how God anointed him with the power of the Holy Spirit, of how he went about doing good and healing all who suffered from the devil’s power—because God was with him.  PHILLIPS

17:27

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:  KJV

27 "So that they would be seeking and inquiring after God; and they may find him by his creation, because also he is not far from everyone of us."  ARAM

27 God wanted them to ·look for [seek] him and perhaps ·search all around for [grope for; reach out to; feel their way towards] him and find him, though he is not far from any of us:  EXB

27 He did this so they would look for him. He wanted them to reach out and find him. But he is not far from each one of us.  WE

27 His purpose in all this was that people of every culture and religion would search for this ultimate God, grope for Him in the darkness, as it were, hoping to find Him. Yet, in truth, God is not far from any of us.  VOICE

27 God made the nations so they would seek him, perhaps even reach out to him and find him. In fact, God isn’t far away from any of us.  CEB

17:28

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.  KJV

28 and he gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are. “We are his children,” just as some of your poets have said.  CEV

28 Certainly, we live, move, and exist because of him. As some of your poets have said, ‘We are God’s children.’  GW

28 For you know the saying, “We live in God; we move in God; we exist in God.” And still another said, “We are indeed God’s children.”  VOICE

28 ‘[L For] ·By his power [or In him] we live and move and ·exist [have our being; C a quotation from the Cretan philosopher Epimenides, from about 600 bc].’ [L As] Some of your own poets have said: ‘For we are his ·children [offspring; C a quotation from Aratus, a Stoic philosopher from Cilicia, who lived about 315–240 bc].’  EXB
